Bangkok Airport to Novotel Platinum, Your Transfer Options

Yamile Kabande

Landing in Bangkok and headed to the Novotel Platinum? You’ve got choices! This popular hotel sits in the heart of the Pratunam shopping district, and luckily, there are several ways to get there from Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK).

Considering cost and convenience?

  • Metered Taxi: A reliable and affordable option, especially if you have luggage. Head to the taxi rank and look for the "Taxi Meter" queue. Fares should be around 400-450 baht (including tolls and airport surcharge) and the ride should take roughly 20 minutes depending on traffic.

Looking for a fixed fare and spacious ride?

  • Van Taxi: These larger taxis are a good choice for groups or those with heavy luggage. Head to the Public Taxi counter and request a van taxi. You’ll get a coupon and be directed to a designated lane. Fares are similar to metered taxis.

Want to avoid traffic?

  • Airport Rail Link (ARL): A quick and efficient option, the ARL whisks you into central Bangkok in about 36 minutes. The downside is that Novotel Platinum isn’t directly connected to the ARL. You’ll need to take a taxi or ride-sharing app from Ratchaprarop station, which adds to your journey time. Tickets are inexpensive, costing around $1-2 USD.

Other options to consider:

  • Ride-sharing apps: Grab and Uber operate in Bangkok and can be a convenient way to get a car, though surge pricing can apply.
  • Private transfer: Book a private car service in advance for a meet-and-greet arrival and door-to-door transfer. This is the most comfortable option but comes at a premium price.

Tip: No matter which option you choose, be sure to have the hotel address written down in Thai or show it to your driver to avoid any confusion.

Happy travels!
