Where to Get Grab at Bangkok Airport

Thet San

Just landed in Bangkok and eager to hit the city? You might be considering using Grab, a popular ride-hailing app in Southeast Asia. But unlike before, you can now conveniently book a Grab car directly at Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK)!

Great news for travelers, right? Here’s what you need to know about using Grab at Bangkok Airport:

  • Official Grab Pick-Up Points: Gone are the days of navigating unofficial pick-up zones. Suvarnabhumi Airport has designated Grab service centers for a smooth and hassle-free experience. There are two official pick-up locations:

    • Exit 4 (International Arrivals, 2nd Floor): Head towards the Kasikorn Bank Exchange Booth and turn right. Then, proceed to Gate 4 and turn left to the exit. You’ll find the pick-up point in front of Gate 4 (outer lane).
    • Exit 7 (International Arrivals, 2nd Floor): Similar to Exit 4, go to the Kasikorn Bank Exchange Booth but turn left this time. Make your way to Gate 7 and turn right to the exit. The pick-up point is located in front of Gate 7 (outer lane).
  • Using the Grab App: Ensure you have the Grab app downloaded and an account set up before your arrival. Once you’re at the airport, open the app and book your ride as usual.

    • Pick-up Location: The app should automatically set your pick-up location to the nearest Grab service center (Exit 4 or Exit 7). Double-check to confirm it’s correct.
    • Destination: Enter your final destination in Bangkok.
    • Car Selection: Choose a car type that suits your needs based on the number of passengers and luggage.
  • Meeting Your Driver: The app will provide your driver’s details and estimated arrival time. Once your driver arrives, look out for their license plate number matching the information in the app.

Additional Tips:

  • Mobile Data/Wi-Fi: Make sure you have mobile data or connect to the airport’s Wi-Fi to use the Grab app.
  • Cash or Cashless: While Grab typically allows cashless transactions, it’s always a good idea to have some Thai Baht on hand in case of unforeseen circumstances.

So, ditch the taxi queues and hop into a Grab for a comfortable and convenient start to your Bangkok adventure!
